Cleanliness and sanitation

Swaccha Mission

Swaccha is the sanskrit word for clean. It incorporates our vision and commitment for building cleaner, disease free and healthier living conditions inside the slums, were the people are prone to contracting diseases because of poor sanitation practices. It can be broadly categorized into two subcategories.

CLEANLINESS DRIVE

Mahatma Gandhi says that Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

To commemorate Bapu’s 150th Birth Anniversary, The Government of India launched Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, with a motive to make India clean.

We conceived that cleanliness should be a habit rather than an act.

Sahyog The Helping Hand, initiated cleanliness drives so as to internalize and inculcate cleanliness as a matter of habit in individuals and also make it as a community routine.

TREE PLANTATION
The ancient Indian philosophical scriptures says “Vruksho rakshati rakshitah”, which means one who saves trees is saved by trees.

Trees are a rich source of oxygen and make the world more habitable and livable.
In this era of climate change, trees are going to be better carbon sinks, which will protect humanity from the ill effects of climate change and global warming.

Hence, it becomes extremely necessary to protect the environment by planting more trees.
Therefore, every year at the end of our summer camp, we plant saplings and also present them as a token of appreciation.
